A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's initial title after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.

The win also means he has achieved 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his skill to compete at the top level was over.

But the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

He rescued four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
